new computer

I actually bought a new computer! For real. I did not find it on t he desk of a co-worker. It is not tasty with cream cheese and lox. It is a G4 powerbook and I am very excited about Wi-fi, bluetooth, burning CDs, etc. JAD, as tempting as it is, I plan to steer clear of Civ III at all costs. OS X "panther" is amazing. I am looking forward to the new OS "Tiger" in the spring, most likely followed by Ocelot and Mircat.

Ellis & I are computer buddies! I love my powerbook: I use Mac's calendar software, photo software, iTunes (all free, natch); I take it to school or the coffee shop and go online wirelessly; I connect it to my iPod to listen to music or audiobooks; my new phone connects to it wirelessly to download photos, update my addressbook automatically.... /end gush

I can see how Jobs's idea of the computer-as-center of the digital life will work. It's just Radiohead that I still don't get.

If it's all the same with them, I'd rather the next updates be polecat and hepcat.

Ellis: you may want to consider protecting your investment with fine Italian cardboard.

JAD, can you just see the people on the train? "That guy had pizza every day this month. Is he a member of IFOCE?"

Tried to go online wirelessly today, but the network was too old. I have managed to consolidate all of my email accounts into one manager and I also use the calendar + address book a ton. Checking out the trail membership of .mac

Hey, now you'll be able to post images on the blog! You just put 'em on .mac, and you'll be able to 'point' to them from here.

Web access for iTunes. That is very very sweet. I should burn you some DVDs to ramp up your iTunes collection.
